Listen Closely
Luke 14:34 "Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? 35 It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. "Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear."
Yesterday from Deuteronomy the fate of the sinner was outlined. Today there is the threat of total loss. If salt is living in the blessedness of the sermon on the mount, then losing those blessings is a very threatening possibility. He has died for us. He has given us the presence of His Spirit, but even then, we are called to not stray away into the ways and false promises of self and world. (Remember “the devil, the world and our own flesh”). Listen to your life and what you rejoice over and what you crave to see if the salt is still alive in you. His living promise and presence is key to our living relationship for true life.
