Disobedience
Deuteronomy 28:30 You will be pledged to be married to a woman, but another will take her and rape her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you will not even begin to enjoy its fruit.
Not your best day I would guess. This section of Deuteronomy is the picture of a people who turn from the life of listening to God to their own ways. We have many a family where we have the appearance of a life with God that actually is following the desires of one or more in leadership that are following their own ways while talking and walking ABOUT God. Pastors who have taken money, women or authority that was not theirs are the clear signs, but within the fellowships of congregations and such may even be seen as “faithful”. The consequences are terrible for such. The answer is not finding fault, but finding our Father and His Son again for renewal. The punishments may come from society and even the church, but the hope will come from the One who Saves. Live not in disobedience…
