Acts 2:1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
I am not interested in misuse of the gifts of God at this point. There are many misuses of Christmas and Easter and the Passover if you want to go there. But, the gift of Pentecost was what Jesus told the disciples to wait for before they went out to bring the Kingdom of God to the world. So far as I have been able to see, (understand I am not the student some would like me to be), that Kingdom is still to be offered to all the world. It is quite possible that He would still fill at least some of us with the presence of the Holy Spirit so that there would be an intense outpouring of the invitation to hear the call to trust the Savior. How far back would you like to be in offering life to a neighbor or an enemy?
