Prophecy
Micah 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."
There are few words in the prophets of Israel more accurate than this. The advisors to Herod the Great knew these and told the Magi where they should go. Herod believed the words and reacted so badly that horror was the result. Joseph and Mary made the trek because a ruler wanted a head count, but God wanted His Son! This was the city of David, the one from whom the Messiah would come. David was of old. From 1000 years before. A whole bunch of losers came, with a few who wished good on the land, but none to rule as Jesus does. Amazing prophecy. Thank you Lord!
