I Thought It Was Tough Yesterday
Song of Solomon 1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth— for your love is more delightful than wine.
How do we talk of loving God? By how we treat our neighbor or brother? This is worse! Now we get (maybe a bit) sexual or sensual in talking about living with God The Almighty who is far beyond us. Or is He? Maybe we like Him to be a bit farther away from us than He wants anyway? Maybe He wants us to see Him as not just a deist ideal, but a living part of our lives. Maybe He wants to walk with us in the evening under the stars and by the waters of peace. Maybe He wants to engage our fears with the power of His trustworthiness. Maybe we can look for Him in not just the days of great fear and sorrow, but even as we sit in the quiet of our loneliness. Are our hearts open to the Living God?
