Are you living to the Praise of His Glory?
Leviticus 23:24 "Say to the Israelites: 'On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts.
This gathering time may not be a time to journey to Jerusalem, though it seems that the folks in Jerusalem or during the Exodus all would gather, but it would be a time to stop and put our efforts and focus on the presence, reality and call of Yahweh on the identity of the people. That is much the same as stopping on the day of worship (Saturday or Sunday) for the church (people) of our day to stop and make real the presence, salvation and purpose of The Lord in our lives. I suspect that the people of Israel handled this over the long haul about as well as we do Thanksgiving (football), Christmas (presents), Easter (eggs and bunnies) and Sundays (off to the lake). I say, let the Organ ring, the choir sing, the congregation join in praise and the family stop to listen to the Word and pray. Get some rest and assemble together unto the Lord.
